Summary
JapaCounter is a fully offline mantra counting app. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All your data -- mantra counts, settings, streaks, and audio recordings -- stays entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no advertising.
1. Introduction
DatCrazy LLP ("we," "our," or "us") operates JapaCounter (the "App"), an Android application for tracking mantra recitations (japa). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
By using JapaCounter, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
JapaCounter does not collect any personal information. All data created within the App is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences and local file storage.
We do not collect, store, or transmit: email addresses, names, phone numbers, location data, device identifiers, usage analytics, crash reports, or any other personal information.
2.1 Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is created and stored entirely on your device:

3. App Permissions
JapaCounter requests the following Android permissions:

The App does not request the INTERNET permission at all. Without it, Android will not allow the App to open a network connection under any circumstances. You can confirm this yourself in the App's permission list — it is the strongest possible guarantee that your practice data cannot leave your device.
Two further permissions — ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE and DUMP — appear in the App's manifest because standard Android libraries include them automatically. The App's own code never uses either one.
Audio recordings are stored in app-private storage and are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with any server or third party. Recordings are used solely for on-device mantra loop playback.
4. Network Communication
JapaCounter does not make any network requests. The App:
- Does not connect to the internet
- Does not use analytics or crash reporting services
- Does not include advertising SDKs
- Does not use cloud storage or sync services
- Does not send push notifications via external services
The App functions entirely offline. No internet connection is required or used.
5. Third-Party Services
JapaCounter does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, social media, or tracking libraries included in the App.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Since we do not collect any data, there is no data to share. Specifically:
- We do not sell any data
- We do not share data with third parties
- We do not use data for advertising purposes
- We do not provide data to data brokers
7. Data Export and Backup
JapaCounter provides a JSON export feature that allows you to back up your data (mantra counts, settings, routines) to a file on your device. This export is initiated by you and the file is saved to your device's local storage. The exported file is never transmitted to any server.
You may also share your progress as an image or text using your device's built-in share functionality. This sharing is entirely under your control and uses the standard Android share sheet.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
All data is stored on your device. You can delete your data at any time by:
- Resetting individual mantra counts within the App
- Clearing the App's data through Android Settings
- Uninstalling the App (removes all data permanently)
Since no data leaves your device, uninstalling the App is sufficient to delete all information.
9. Children's Privacy
JapaCounter does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App operates entirely offline with no data collection, it is safe for users of all ages.
10. Data Security
Your data is protected by Android's built-in app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing JapaCounter's private storage. Audio recordings are stored in the app's private directory and are not accessible to other applications. Since no data is transmitted over the internet, there is no risk of data interception during transit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
